How To Score At A Café

Some people believe that coffee is bad for your health. While too much caffeine can cause problems for your health, it certainly can’t hurt your love life. Cafés are excellent places to play the game of seduction with women. They’re bustling with all sorts of different people and don’t have the same overwhelming first-past-the-post race that you feel with other guys at the clubs and pubs. Yes, cafés have always been a girl gold mine for the hip and intelligent. Let’s take a look at a few techniques you can use to score at a café.

Pick your type of coffee shop

Much like bars and nightclubs, each coffee shop has its own unique atmosphere and personality. All sorts exist, including college hangouts, places full of artists and writers, fashionable downtown digs, or even just pleasantly charming franchise shops. The clientele will always seek out the atmosphere that suits their personalities best. For example, artsy types will be at the locales with the hand-painted murals on the wall and events like weekly poetry readings. Likewise, it probably isn’t the smartest idea to try and score women at a Christian coffee shop if you think religion is for chumps.

Position makes perfect

One of the best things about hanging out in a café is that they usually have some comfortable couches in which to sit and enjoy your beverage. The seats are usually positioned outward, which makes for a natural invite to the coffee-loving female crowd. This arrangement allows your target to sit in close proximity and likely within conversation distance. You might even be lucky to snag the only seat available next to the cute brunette on the couch; consider the bold move of bringing her a cup of her favorite brew if she’s still undecided over black or decaf.

If the café happens to have a patio or balcony, head outside if the weather permits. Here’s a tip: Ask her to join the two-person table that has an umbrella for a little shade and intimacy. There’s nothing like a little coffee, fresh air and her undivided attention.
Find your conversation piece

Anyone who spends more than 15 minutes in a coffee shop usually brings a good book or a newspaper. (And that’s not including yuppies and aspiring authors who clack away on their laptops like they forgot where their offices are, but I digress.) So, how does this apply to the you? For one thing, their book or gadget is a conversation piece to break the ice.

You can find friendly commonalities with people at cafés, and a good handful of folks who meet at these places usually introduce themselves over a material object to muse over. Take a look at what book she’s reading, and know a bit about the author. Is she carrying her bike helmet? Grab your latte and show her the 10-speed you brought. Conversation doesn’t have to be forced — it can be introduced — just find that conversation piece.

Show up at the peak times

While any time of the day is a good time to meet women, you’ll have a better variety when you visit during their peak times. That includes first thing in the morning, when people need their bean fix to start the workday, during the lunch rush or in the evening when people just come to relax in a social atmosphere. Frankly, the most ideal time to score at a café would be during the evening since people are there to just relax and will likely spend more time lingering, available for a conversation or just some good company.

Make your approach quickly

Coffee is one of life’s great conveniences. With our busy schedules and constant battles to squeeze a few more minutes out of the day, coffee provides that fix so necessary to be alert and productive for the daily grind. The café experience, then, is not necessarily a relaxing place; it’s a pit stop, and for seduction purposes you have to make your move quickly. This may go against the steady approach I’ve been waxing poetic about for a long time. Time is of the essence, so make every second count. To score at a café, take a deep breath (or a gulp of your cappuccino) and approach her without wasting time. The last thing you want is to waste valuable seconds prepping your approach only to have her to walk out of the café and out of your life.

make a café connection

Trying to score at a café is a great alternative to the bar scene. Women love to receive compliments outside of a nightlife environment, and a café is a perfect place to do just that.
